Catholic Mass aboard Solstice

Embarking on 1-15-2012 and was wondering if daily Mass is available on the Solstice. Celebrity is usually very good with this and would appreciate any input regarding this subject. Thank you, David

You probably won't find a priest aboard anymore, except at Christmas and Easter. Celebrity stopped having priests on all sailings a while ago. You may see a notice in the daily of Mass being at a certain time, but don't be surprised if it is only a prayer service of some sort, not an actual Mass. Last season in the Caribbean if the ship called on a port on Sunday they sometimes tried to get a local priest to come aboard to say Mass so check with Guest Relations to see if that might happen on your cruise.

We were onboard Equinox in December and a deacon was kind enough to come forward and lead a prayer service. Then on Sunday, we were surprised to see a Catholic Mass was announced in the daily (Celebrity Today). A priest that was travelling as a guest said Mass on the Sundays as well as the feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8th) which is a holy day in the States.

 

Our cruise director Que, went beyond what would be expected. There were so many Catholics onboard that the theatre was used for the last Sunday. Que arranged for the string trio to play Ava Maria and some other selections. Wow! This was very special.
