cruiseapril Posted January 11, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2012 Recently read that Cozumel, St. Thomas, Grand Cayman, Nassau, San Juan, and St. Maarten are the busiest ports in the Caribbean. It's understood that they want the cruise ship business, but the crowding is getting a bit absurd.
sail7seas Posted January 11, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 11, 2012 Recently read that Cozumel, St. Thomas, Grand Cayman, Nassau, San Juan, and St. Maarten are the busiest ports in the Caribbean. It's understood that they want the cruise ship business, but the crowding is getting a bit absurd. There are so many ships and just so many Caribbean islands. All these ships need ports to visit. They are actively creating new ports by building such places as the Carnival created tourist areas at Costa Maya, Roatan, Grand Turk ....... With so many ships, we have to expect to often have lots of company with us in most ports during the busy fall/winter/early spring season.
