oklaviking Posted January 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Has anyone tendered into Roatan, Honduras. I noticed the Spirit is scheduled to anchor at the port according to the E docs I printed. Thanks for all your help.
CruisinChris412 Posted January 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2012 We just tendered here on our cruise last week on the Spirit. They used the Spirit's own lifeboats as tender boats. We weren't anchored far from the pier, fwiw.
russianmom Posted January 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2012 We tendered last time I was there. it's a very short distance and very quick.

russianmom Posted January 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Last year for some reason Spirit was scheduled to dock at Mahagony Bay ( maybe because Celebrity was already scheduled at Coxen Hole). Apparently the "winds" were too strong and we sailed right past Mahagony and dropped anchor a few hundred yards from Celebrity and they let down the life boats
melligene Posted January 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2012 We tendered last time I was there. it's a very short distance and very quick. We were there Nov. 2009. Probably less than 5 minutes.

Thanks for all your help. I sailed on the Spirit last March and we did not have to tender to the island. We were able to dock at the new port. luddite Posted January 10, 2012 #8 Share Posted January 10, 2012 I sailed on the Spirit last March and we did not have to tender to the island. We were able to dock at the new port. We docked at Mahogany Bay a year ago. Never want to see there again. I thought they were docking at Coxen Hole now. I'm hoping so.
VonChap Posted January 10, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 10, 2012 We usually do not do ships excursions, but we do in Roatan. We go to Maya Key via NCL, and that makes the tendering super easy and fast. They usually call that excursion first. K

rvsullivan Posted January 12, 2012 #11 Share Posted January 12, 2012 Spirit had a contract with Carnival to use Mahogany Bay for 18 months. That ended last year and now it's 100% Coxen Hole. Because of the size of the ships there, Spirit anchors out and tenders. It is about a 5 minute or less tender. Smooth and easy. Enjoy.
