Looking for tips for those "Suite" benefits!

The Sabatini breakfast is out of this world. The closest thing I've seen on RCI was the suite breakfast in Chops on Jewel, where they had a separate menu. On Navigator, the offerings were more "ordinary."

Jean, on our Explorer trip, breakfast for suites was "ask for it, and you shall receive it. I asked and received......steak and eggs, patato pancakes......and then a "cooks special" just to see another great, but unexperienced breakfast!

This continued on the Mariner, last month. So, for those..now anyone that holds a Gold Card........special surprises await you in the specialty restaurant, for breakfast.........until it closes, around 11 AM.

Completely agree and if Cruise Lines continue to serve bad food or dont change Menus they will get caught out with their competition.Ask Celebrity and others, they found out and changed tired Menus and bought in incentives to retain customers.

We enjoyed the Full Princess Vista Suite so much which included unlimited Laundry and Internet and the So Out Of This World Sabatini Breakfast,It was so much of a influence to book a Vancouver to Beijing voyage later this year.

We are about to do a 40 night 3 back to backs with RCCL.So many sea days which of course is what we enjoy.

This will be our first full suite experience with RCCL.

Im still wondering what they do on Voyager and i simply think its just a seating area and nothing more in Portafino?

On both the Freedom last fall and Mariner in Dec., breakfast eggs were cooked to order inside Chops or Portofino, I forget which on which ship. I hope this suite perk shows up on all Freedom and Voyager class ships. Eating in the specialty restaurant for breafast and lunch is one of our favorite suite perks. On Serenade last Feb. for debarkation, we had breakfast in Chops and then our concierge, Francoise, actually escorted suite pax off the ship into the luggage area. No lines, no waits, fantastic. Wish all concierges would do this. BTW, our last 6 cruises have been in GS's, and I have never been invited to a "sail away" with champagne and mimosas. What ship was that on?

We were on the Jewel and the Navigator and both times had this perk. It wasnt at sail away but rather during a sea day. It is FANTASITC!! We had champagne and martini's with an array of appetizeters. I also loved the bridge tour. We are sailing on the LOS and were debating whether to book the suite. Decision made. THANKS FOR REMINDING ME!!!!:D

I wish they considered junior suites "suites". I don't know why they don't. My hubs and I have booked a western med cruise in April, but the only suites available are jr suites. All the others were booked way way in advance. I am on the waiting list, but I have a feeling there won't be anything offered. Anyone know why they don't consider a JS a suite?

We were in a Grand Suite on Mariner of the Seas first sailing out of Galveston - 11/11/11. For that sailing, there were so many suite guests, Diamond, Diamond Plus, etc., that the Concierge Lounge was moved from it's usual location to the Viking Crown lounge in the evenings. Very nice being able to spread out, and have a large full size bar. They also served various appetizers, cheeses, and fruit.

On Mariner, suite guests were able to enjoy a nice, quiet breakfast AND lunch in Chops. Breakfast was cooked to order, with a small buffet with pastries, cereal, fruit, etc, but you could also pick up your breakfast in the Windjammer and then eat in Chops. You could also enjoy, for free, the fresh squeezed OJ that everyone else was paying $5 for. At lunch time, you picked up your lunch from the Windjammer, and then ate in Chops.

Another nice perk was priority debarkation in tender ports. Instead of having to get a tender ticket, you just show your gold card, and they escort you to the front of the line, and right on to the tender. We were not escorted off the ship during final debarkation, however, as stated in an earlier post.

The special seating area near the pool on the Voyager class ships is nice, too. Make sure to keep the rope up, or you'll have people trying to see the various contests standing in front of you. You'll have a great view until that happens! (speaking from experience on this one!)

In your suite every morning, the concierge will place the entire days menus in a booklet on your coffee table. You can order anything on those menus thru room service, should you decide to eat in your cabin instead of the dining room.

Fresh fruit in the room upon arrival, and will be replenished throughout the cruise.

The size of bathroom and balcony are "to die for". The balcony is probably twice as wide as a standard balcony, and the bathroom is HUGE with a tub/shower combo (Grand suite), two sinks, loads of storage space, etc.

There were other perks that I know I'm forgetting, but we were so pleased with our suite experience, that we're booked in another Grand Suite on Navigator in March of 2013!

For those of you that have been in a GS on Mariner, do you know if they have ipod docking stations or dvd players?

We like to have some background music and would like to know what to bring with us, CDs or ipod.

The word "Junior" defines the cabin as not being a Full Suite. That is another reason that those in a JS cabin do not have Concierge privileges any more unless they are D+/PC Members.

It is a question of space as well. There are so many more JS on all ships that the Concierge Lounge would not be able to cope.

OH! There was only one controller so you might want to bring a second one.

I am guessing that anyone with access to the movie library in the CL will have a playstation so that they can play the movie in their room

We are sailing out of San Juan on the Adventure in a GS on 12 Feb 12. Have not received anything from our Concierge. How far in advance did you receive your e-mail?

we recieved ours in the week leading up to our sailing.

Well this is all terrible news.

I have suspected for some time now that booking a Grand Suite for our transatlantic on the Nav in April was a mistake as it could spoil DW.

All these perks suggest this will very much be the case.

I am more than happy to do two cruises with an ocean view, DW may prefer the one cruise in a GS option for future vacations now.

Thanks for the info. I did receive an e-mail from our "Dining Room Coordinator" asking what kind of table (2-top, 4-top, etc), where in the dining room we wanted to sit, time we wanted to eat, etc.

Nice not having to go to the Dining Room right after we board because we didn't get a table like we had asked for in our reservation or they put us in a corner of the room where you couldn't see anything (which is usually the case).

Hey CC'ers. I just got back from a 10-nighter on Explorer and noticed a ton of areas roped off for the "gold card" suite guests. I'd love to know what else besides the private beach on Labadee, the priority pool seating, and the priority theatre seating is included with your gold card. I'd love to book a suite if that's the case.

Anybody know if you get access to the Concierge Club or any special events, shows, or "open bars"?

Thanks!

The Royal Suite will also get you an personal escort onto the ship, assuming an officer is available.

Or not, if having an escort makes you uncomfortable. When DD and I got upgraded to the Royal Suite on the Voyager, we weren't sure when we were going to board because we were doing a little more sightseeing in Barcelona. We told them not to worry about us. I would have felt funny anyway.

The big bathroom alone is the best.

We like the big bathroom too - we always said it seems like you could ball-room dance in it :p. We have GS 1324 booked for our cruise in 3/2013 and can't wait - we had that same cabin a couple of years ago.
