Gauranteed cabin and transatlantic

Hi, reading on this board that a guaranteed cabin may not be allocated until you board the ship, how does that work when you don't see your luggage from check in at the airport?

They are usually allocated before you sail. Keep checking your cruise personaliser.

We booked a guarantee balcony on Ventura for the outbound transatlantic crossing twelve weeks before. A few weeks later we had a confirmation letter from P&O which stated our allocated cabin. We were chuffed as we had been give a C deck balcony. Have a great trip.

I few people on our roll call have children and I thought there is a way of checking how many children are on board but Ican't find it. It may be useful for them to know we don't care our children are grown up :)

We've been allocated our cabin it's on the Riviera deck R405 (we were upgraded) I think we will hear the crew putting out the sunbeds above us in the morning but we're not bothered about that.

 

If anyone has been on this side of the ship (right) on a Transatlantic from Barbados please could you tell me is it likely to be in the sun (if we have any) or the shade?

Barbados is north of the equator and you'll be travelling east, so the starboard is the sunny side.
