Port Everglades to Sofitel Miami Airport - taxi?

We fly in to Miami and have QLA booked to take us from Miami to our hotel in Fort Lauderdale the night before our cruise.

 

We are booked in to the Sofitel at Miami Airport the day that we disembark. I am presuming that there will be loads of taxis at the airport to take us to the Sofitel however wondered if anyone knew the cost of doing this compared to booking a taxi in advance? The reason for asking is that we really don't know what time we will be out of the terminal building as customs etc., can take either 5 minutes or hours! I don't want to book a taxi and not be there due to being stuck inside in a customs line.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

You can try QLS or Go Airport Shuttle for shared shuttle service from PE to the Sofitel; a taxi will run about $85+ or you could rent a car for the day -- either way it is a 45 or so minute ride. Good luck! :)

sofitel hotel has free shuttle from the airport that runs every half hour. also they offer shuttle to the port for $10.
