St Lucia scuba diving

I have a preference for St Lucia as a diving island as I dont think the town is going to be that interesting, I am about to book with a private operator when I found this discussion thread - so before I press the send button, does anyone have any experiences, have I read St Lucia wrong or should I go to St Maarten or St Thomas instead, I am a newbie cruiser but a real old hand at diving!!

St. Lucia is fabulous diving at the Pitons. Check with "Papa" Irving, he offers a great two-tank dive.

Thanks Laurie, I did think the Pitons looked awesome, I have sent Papa a message, I have an option of Steve's Scuba who also seems to have good right ups in Trip Advisor, I will compare on price and what they offer when I get a response, great to have found this thread!!

I just had to say that I think the Legend is my favorite ship and the snorkeling is the best by far that we have done. It has been over a year and a half since we did the Legend and we hope to do that cruise again.

We were in St. Lucia last summer. My first choice was the Ti Kaye resort but it was booked :( so we used Scuba Steve and had a great 2 tank dive, despite the rain and poor visibility.
