Staying 3 nights in Ft Lauderdale before cruise- fun location?

I'm going to be in Fort Lauderdale a few nights before my cruise, and I'm looking for a location that's either 1) Close to the beach or 2) Close to a good nightlife drag. It doesn't have to be super close to the cruise port.

 

I don't know fort lauderdale very well, so I'll trust any input on good locations!

Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach, great location for beach,restaurants and night life. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Hilton Ft Lauderdale Beach Resort you can't go wrong here. We were there last summer before our cruise on Oasis. The grandkids had a blast on the beach which is just across the street. Everything about the hotel was great. The breakfast buffet was very good.

The Bahia Mar is an excellent hotel. I stayed there last spring for a pre-cruise and we were able to walk everywhere.

 

They also have excellent orange juice in the morning :)
