Cheapest prices on Tux's!

Yes, buying your own tux can be cheaper in the long run (and certainly get something of better quality than a shipboard rental tux), but consider...

You also must buy shirts, tie and cummerbund (or vest), studs and cufflinks, braces, (probably) shoes and socks.

You also have to pay the dry cleaning and laundry bills.

You also have to get the above into your luggage (and perhaps pay for extra weight or an extra suitcase).

And you may have to arrange to have the tux pressed (depending on how well it travels) upon unpacking.

And what if your size changes (for better or for worse)?

Pretty much none of the above when you rent.

Currently, we cruise once or twice a year, and, IMHO, it's just easier to rent.

BTW, I am a former employee of Jos. A. Bank, and I had many opportunities to puchase a tux at a deeply discounted price and never did so.
