Bags for men

Have not been on a cruise for several years. What kind of bags are men bringing on excursions? DH used to bring a backpack but is thinking of getting a messenger bag such as a Timbuktu .

Hubby doesn't bring anything....I carry a beach bag if we're going to do a "water day"...he carries his wallet...that's about it!

I reckon it really depends on what you're doing and what things you'll need while ashore!

I use a backpack to carry towels, snorkel gear, water, etc.

My dad carries a timberland "string bag."

We got it for him after he became too embarassed to wear his fanny pack :D (thank goodness) and would carry it around in his hand... which resulted in him losing it in Las Vegas.

 

String bags are especially good for travel because without anything in them, they are completely flat and easy to pack in luggage.

We don't do beach type stuff, so.....In some ways it depends on where you're going and what your husband wants to carry.

 

Hubby carries a backpack or a sling camera bag, depending on how many lenses he wants to bring along.

Men coming into the luggage store where I work seem

To prefer backpacks or messenger bags.

 

Some will get a cross body bag such as Eagle Creek, as long as it doesn't resemble a purse. I can't post links as I'm on my iPod, but type in eaglecreek.com and you can check them out.

 

Imlearned years ago to never carry a tote on a shore excursion that is large enough that others can put their belongings onto it. Also I don't take one along that my husband would be embarrassed to carry and share the load.

We usually do the beach with towels, sun screen, extra clothes, hair brush, etc. He uses a backpack as a carry on and then uses it in port for all of our stuff. If necessary I will carry a large tote bag if we need more space.
