Oct2011-ship unable to tender in Lahaina. Can they tender safely now in Lahaina?

Hello Cruisers,

From Sep 25 to Oct 12, 2011, we were on 17 day Holland America Hawaii Cruise. The ship tried to tender in Lahaina and the water was too shallow so even though the ship docked there, we were unable to get off and missed the port. In the interest of safety, I think the captain made a good call.

In the last 6 months, have the ships been tendering successfully in Lahaina?

We would like to go on another Hawaii cruise on Royal Carribean in a few months (April 2012) and just want to be sure that it is safe.

Your comments are greatly appreciated

Have a great night!

Rose

We were there the end of December 2011 and had no problems. When tendering back to the ship after spending the day ashore, there were lots of dolphins performing for us along the way! Aloha!

Thank you so much. That sounds so wonderful. Aloha!
