mspink98 Posted February 2, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2012 Does anyone else remember that Chris Rock bit? :p We're very interested in a Cuban restaurant called Exquisito at 1510 SW 8th for dinner. We're staying at Homewood Suites Blue Lagoon, and it looks like a very easy drive down Red Rd. to 8th, then east on 8th. We will have a car. Easy and advisable are not always the same thing, though. ;) Any locals around who think this is a bad idea, for safety or traffic reasons? If traffic is an issue, should we just have the front desk call us a taxi and let the driver deal with it? Every city has it's areas to avoid, hoping someone can tell me if that route is one of those areas in Miami. TIA!
royalcruz Posted February 3, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2012 Just leave your luggage at the hotel. A family on vacation recently was eating dinner at a restuarant on 8th St (Versailles, which my Cuban friend says is the best) while thieves stole everything from their trunk.
mspink98 Posted February 3, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted February 3, 2012 Oh no! What a mess, how terrible for that family. Our luggage will definitely be at the hotel. No reason to cart it around anyway since we're there for the night, and it does make for a nice target for thieves, unfortunately.
