alexney Posted February 4, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2012 On our last cruise I wore a black dress on formal night. I don't want to go and purchase dresses for the the nights on our upcoming cruise. Do women wear skirts and nice tops on formal nights? Would I fit in or be looked at as not dressy enough? You will be fine. You will find most all combinations of dress, from very formal down to ...almost against dress code. (and possibly worse) Dresses, skirts pants, even noticed a lot of capri's Just look nice and you will be fine.
tef43 Posted February 4, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2012 There is no more "Formal Night." It has been renamed "Cruise Elegant Night," and it is a train wreck. Basically anything goes, as Carnival does not seem to care.
kingoftheicedragons Posted February 4, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2012 Almost anything is fine for the elegant night. Dresses, slacks and blouse. You name it.

Maybe you should make it part of your signature. ;):)
riffatsea Posted February 4, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2012 You can wear the same dress you wore on your last cruise! You can also wear a skirt or slacks with a fancy top. Whatever you want to wear will be fine! Remember it is YOUR vacation!

Cocoanib Posted February 4, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 4, 2012 Wear your black dress and pair it with a different shoe and accesories. There is no more "Formal Night." It has been renamed "Cruise Elegant Night," and it is a train wreck. Basically anything goes, as Carnival does not seem to care. This is pretty funny, but so true from what I've seen. Most people were dressed "elegantly" on our elegant night, some were more casual and then just a few were in t's and jeans. The t's and jeans folks were teens and their parents were dressed a little more appropriately, but not much.
