mistymountainhop Posted February 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2012 My DH and FIL have booked the Discover Scuba in St. Thomas. Does anyone know which tour operator NCL uses? Thanks!
092306 Posted February 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2012 Don't know if NCL uses them but I know Carnival uses UNDERWATER SAFARI. THey were ok. I wasn't all that impressed with the diving in ST thomas. Don't know why that is, but I just thought it was ok. Hope this helps
Laurie S. Posted February 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2012 St. Thomas is a wonderful area to dive. The Chrysler wreck is amazing for the underwater beauty and variety of fish, and the Miss Opportunity wreck is just plain cool to dive through. Scuba Laura Posted March 4, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2012 I don't think Underwater Safari's has the contract with them anymore. You will have to check. You can also check out Blue Island Divers and Admiralty Dive Center. Since you are doing a Discover Scuba, you're depth will be limited, so a wreck like the Miss Opportunity will not be possible. Have fun!!
ddfuentes Posted March 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2012 Admirality Dive Center is a great operator, but if you're not certified, you're better off sticking to the excursion offered by the cruise line. If you aren't sure of the questions to ask, you won't know what you're getting. You might want to consider becoming certified before your cruise if time and money allows. You'll find your excursion a lot more enjoyable if you are comfortable with the rules of diving. Just my opinion...I hope you enjoy whatever route you go. Diving is incredible!
