Voyager Sailaway down the Mississipi

Recommended Posts

Will be on the Voyager going out of New Orleans in 3 weeks!! Very excited! How is the sailaway along the banks of the Mississipi River? Are there folks out there waving us and watching the boat go by? Are there any interesting sites to see as we saild down the river? Anyone know how long it takes to get to the ocean?

Thanks!

It's been awhile since I have sailed up/down the Mississippi from NOLA, but if I remember it's about 6 hours or so. Since I don't think you will have the benefit of Daylight Saving Time for your sailing, it will get dark on the early side. There probably won't be scads of folks waving at you but there maybe an occasional wave or two. Can't think of anything interesting to look at that jumps into mind, but I always enjoyed the scenery even when it was dark. The trip on the river is great... enjoy!
