Beach umbrellas

We are going to Nassau and probably spend the day at Junkanoo Beach. My question is 2-fold:

 

I know that chair rentals are available but what about beach umbrellas?

 

If not available, can we bring our own beach umbrella on board? They tend to have a large spiky thing at the end so would that make them a possible weapon?:p
