The GEM at Cape Canaveral

The ship docks in Cape Canaveral at noon on my upcoming cruise.

A friend is driving there to meet me for the day. I need to figure out

what time she should meet me. Ship docks at noon. Does NCL only

allow the pax w/shore excursions off first? and others have to wait??

If so, what time would I be able to leave the ship?

Thanks for any info.

I would think that you should be very safe to have your friend be in the immediate area by 12:30.... Then, when you do make it into the terminal, you can call them and they can pick you up at the pick up spots... Excursions won't be an issue, but customs and immigration have to clear the ship before anyone can get off...

I would tell your friend to try to get there by 1030 am. For that reason, he can see where the ship will dock in the harbor. There is 5 ports. I think all Ncl go to the last one, the one closest to KSC( port 5). Make sure he aware it will be at least 12 noon to get off. Excursion or no excursion can get off whenever they please to. I would do either phone tags or text tags this way your friend can communicate each other where to find each other. If you are dock in port 5 there is a small underpass and big parking lot. Taxis are all in the front of the underpass. I think he can park behind the taxi pick up area in a spot to pick you up. Have fun day with your friend.

thanks for all your input. There is no customs or immigration as we are

sailing down from NYC.

I had called the Port & they told me it is usually Terminal 5 But she

cannot go inside as a non-passenger so I plan on meeting her on other

side of the tunnel at 12:45 to be on the safe side.

Just a note, we were early on the Jewel and cleared early letting people off at little after 11am.

I don't think it happens much and the only other ship in port was Monarch of the Seas which was doing a turn around (ending/starting a cruise).

Just throwing that out there.
