Kublu Posted April 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2005 I've heard that there is a huge language barrier on Costa, is this true even when sailing from the US? If so, are announcements and entertainment done in a foreign language other than English? Is it hard to communicate with the Cruise Staff? My family's trying to decide whether Costa is a good fit for us. Thanks
jeb9860 Posted April 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2005 We found no communication problems with the staff on Costa and we all had a great time. Our children loved the kids club too and never said anything to us about not understanding the staff.
angel*lady Posted April 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2005 We did not have any problem communicating with any of the staff. :) All announcements etc. were done in English first. Our family had such a good time we are going again next March!
Cruise4Andy Posted April 20, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2005 Sorry, but we have been on both, the Atlantica and the Mediterranea and did NOT experience any language barriers whatsoever. It is true that all public announcements are made in five different languages, which are English, Spanish, Italian, German and French. This applies also for the Muster Drill... just be patient and have a blast. Happy Sailing... Andy
CruisinMatt Posted April 20, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2005 Also Bingo is called in any languages present, which I find rather educational! :D
