We are sailing Fascination on 4/23 and we love a good band!

I saw them on the Legend in 2006. At that time they had a woman singer in the 4 member band. What a beautiful voice. Boy, could she sing. Hope they are still the same band. I enjoyed them very much. I'm sure you will too.

"Music - I'm becoming a broken record, but let me say, I'm not someone obsessed with who's gonna be on the ship in terms of musicians. But wow, we had a great band on board! They are called "The Best Day Ever."

 

They're a cover band out of Tampa FL who play music from the 60's to now. They mostly played 80's music and as a child of the 80's I was extremely delighted to hear them play! "

I would love to see a great classic rock band who is authentic and not corny or boring. Real edgy rockers which I have never seen on a cruise. Just play me some Enter Sandman, Sweet Child of Mine, anything Aerosmith, Ac/DC, Zeppelin, Rush, Motley Crue, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Queen, you get the picture. I am a "child" of classic rock but have never been impressed with cruise bands. Probably because i like a little wild and edge to my music which is not common on the lullaby music of cruises. Would love to go on the rock cruises but they have always been scheduled when I cannot get off work. I have a very "conservative" job but let loose with my musical tastes.

I am on the Magic in July so am very hopeful for some music that I like for a change!!

Now some classic rock covers would make us and our 21 year old son very happy!!

If you know what band will be on Magic in July, I would like to look them up on YouTube.

Hi Rock Cover Band lovers!

 

Just recieved info from the entertainment dept and spoke with the man who books the bands...Great guy, and he shared the difficulties of accurate info after the bands return home on vacation. Gov't stuff and regs...

 

So, here's some misc items we talked about:

 

-They are looking to place bands on Pride and Legend-presently w/o a band. No time frame yet...

 

All this subject to change....

Bands just signed for new contracts...

Music Mix will begin 3/8 on Fascination

Highlight (not Music Highlight-different band) on 3/8 Triumph

Music ( something-begins with a "C") on 3/8 Glory

New band Hilux -on Spirit in March

Music Society-Magic

Music Boardwalk currently on Miracle probably till May, then to Fantasy

Music Unlimited back to Miracle in May

Possible Blood Power back to Magic in May

 

Expect each band to have 8 month cotracts, but also could change as well as the ship.

This is not all-inclusive but just from the notes I jotted down.

Will do e-mail correspodance in future

But I did here from Blood Power' rep. and they will be joining Carnival Elation this month...

Here's the e-mail:

 

"Mike, I spoke to Blood Power today. They will be back on the ships this month and as of today, there's a 70% probability they'll end up on the Elation currently based in New Orleans. I'll let you know as soon as they confirm."

 

Not sure how they came up with that probability...:)

Just off the Inspiration yesterday and we really enjoyed the band Mellow Touch. Great variety from classic rock to ballroom chacha and hustle.

Music Manila was totally awesome. They are now on the Spirit doing the AU/NZ route.

Just off "Paradise", and BLOOD POWER was there. I don't know how long they'll be aboard Paradise, but they are excellent.

My personal favorite is "BlackJack Band", and I've always seen them aboard "Dream". Hope they're still there, as I'll be sailing "Dream" in Jan,, and again in Feb.

I really miss all the Filipino Bands...many of them were from the same talent agency and had the word "music" in their name ...Blood Power may be one of the last left...

 

It is sad that the larger, newer ships with the 2.0 upgrades have the worst entertainment

 

I am thinking about trying Freedom again before she gets the 2.0

 

Yeah I like burgers but the shows and the music are more important to me

 

DJ and the awful Playlist "shows" don't thrill me at all
