Picture of OV cabin on Elation

I would really like to get a picture of an ocean view cabin on the Elation. In particular I want to see it with the beds together and when looking into the room the head of the bed would be on your right.

I am putting together a scrapbook and forgot to take a picture of the cabin. Since they are all standard, I would like to just use any picture. The problem is that all the pictures I can find have either two beds, or there is too much personal stuff on the bed.

Hopefully someone can help me with this.:)

Okiemom,

You are so kind. That would be wonderful if you would do that. My husband and I had been on one other cruise on HAL in 2004. This time we had brought the kids. We have two 13 yo boys and 1 18 yo boy. They all had a blast. They didn't do any of the organized stuff, just met up with kids their age and "hung out". They are still talking about it. My parents also came. The whole experience was wonderful. We are experienced travelers, but somewhat new to cruising. After our first one last year we were hooked. We have already booked again for next year on Carnival Conquest. I didn't post a review because I felt it would be similar to many others that are already out there. There is always going to be good and bad to all trips, but we do not always expect much so as not to be disappointed. My opinion is that anytime I am not at work and am being cooked for, cleaned-up after and entertained, it can't be all bad. Dollar for dollar it is a very valuable vacation. We enjoyed the on-deck games and music, spent time in the casino and lounged by the pool. We had brought our own beer (2-12 packs), liquor (1 bottle Baileys, .5 liter of brandy), soda for the kids (3-12 packs total) and mixer soda for us (6 pack 24oz diet coke), so we really didn't spend that much on board. We did buy some of the photos and I had my film developed onboard.

The shore excursions we did were fabulous. In Progresso we booked with Carnival for Chicen Itza because of the time factor. I would highly recommend this if you have never been to any ruins. The history was interesting and the experience of climbing the pyramid is a not to be missed event.

In Cozumel we booked a private snorkel tour with Eagel Ray Divers. None of us had snorkeled before so I was a little leary of going with a big group. Our guide was very personable and stayed in the water with us the whole time. He would dive to the bottom and pick up interesting things (i.e, sea cucumber, anemone, etc.) We took a taxi back into town when we were done and ate lunch at La Mission which was very good. Then we walked back to the ship and had a little time to relax before dinner.

In Belize did the cave tubing with Xtreme. Again, a great experience. Not exactly as I had envisioned it, but still a good time. It was way more exercise that I had thought. It was not the "lazy river" float that they describe.

You will have a wonderful time. If you want to ask me more questions, please feel free to e-mail me at: snoslen@excite.com

Have a great day.

Island,

We packed the soda and beer in our checked luggage. We have never had a problem. It has always arrived with our luggage and never was confiscated. They do say you can bring small amounts of soda, so that is never really a problem. The beer and alcohol, though, could be taken. We just always take the chance.

Island,

Oops, forgot to respond on the suits/ties matter. We have always taken "formal" night to mean formal. Since my husband has a suit and tie, it is not a problem. I did, however, purchase suits for my kids when we took them. I got one at a rummage sale for $0.50 and it fit perfectly. Another one I got at Goodwill for $9.99. The smallest one (size 14 boys) I ordered on-line from TJMaxx. That one was $30.00 on sale. It was worth it for me to have everyone looking good. It was also fun for the kids to dress up. They never really get a chance to other than a wedding or a funeral. Kind of nice to do it just for fun. It was a fun ritual at the end of a busy day. I'm sure if I asked them, none of them would say they didn't like dressing up.

Having said that, if you don't want to wear a suit, or don't have one and don't want to purchase one, you should wear whatever you would be comfortable in. Not everyone dresses up for formal night. You also have the option of eating in the Lido on formal nights.
