Help! Does anyone know if there is baggage storage if you arrive at the cruise dock in Venice, a day early? They do have a luggage deposit area but no information about early luggage storage. Or, should I just contact the cruise line for this info.?

There are a number of posts on this subject on the Europe board in the Ports of call area on this forum. From one of them I learned the other day there is a "Held Luggage" office at the main port terminal. The problem is it is only open certain days (I think Saturday, Sunday and Monday).

Here are links to a couple of good sites with information on Venice.

Finally the Europe port of call board.

By the way be sure to be on the top deck of the Grand when your ship is leaving Venice with your camera as you will get some great pictures of the city and many of the top sites.

Have a great next cruise.

Thanks winfl91 avatar

Good web sites, great maps. Helps me to plan my trip much easier. I wish they had more info on luggage storage at the ship terminal in venice. I contacted my TA with the question, maybe they can be of more assistance.

Could not find the cost of baggage storage.

Thanks again,

Rose

Your question is a good one which my husband and I have been unable to answer. Instead, we have left our luggage at the airport and, on the day of the cruise, returned to pick it up. Then we met the cruise line reps at the airport and rode the bus to the ship. Of course, it was necessary for us to purchase transfers from the cruise line.

The left luggage center is off site at the airport. Just step outside and catch the shuttle. In about five minutes, you will arrive at the Alilaguna stop where there is a square, squat building that is the left luggage center.

After you have checked your luggage, walk over to the lagoon (about two minutes) and get one of the ali laguna speed boats right to Piazza San Marco.

On the day of your cruise, reverse the process. It's really not too bad. Under NO circumstance should you drag luggage into Venice. It's our favorite city in the world, but the porters who made life easy for visitors in the "old days" are long gone.

Hope this helps.
