Ready4cruz'n Posted July 8, 2005 #26 Share Posted July 8, 2005 Bobgads, We went with DenRus, too. I think college-age sons might like the Yusopov Palace and hearing about all the intrigue of Rasputin's demise.
SCDH Posted July 9, 2005 #27 Share Posted July 9, 2005 We didn't take our college-age sons, but I probably would have asked them what they wanted to see. It depends on their interests. One of ours is a music major, and he might have enjoyed seeing the graves of Tchaikovsky and other composers (which we did on our tour). Our other son majored in international relations and specialized in Russia and the political history of Russia and the USSR. He probably would have enjoyed talking with the guide and the driver (who was in his 20's). They probably would have liked to see more of the everyday life (like the market), and would have liked to meet Russians their age. We went to the synagogue and talked with some of the people there, including a girl who was in her 20's. She spoke excellent English, but your guide can interpret for you if necessary. Maybe a visit to a university? As for the evening--we enjoyed the ballet, but probably would have done something like the folk show.
