Hi,

I am cruising on the Victory in April and have a few questions. What time were you able to get on the ship? Did they have a chocolate buffet? Did you do the chef's table dinner, and if so was it worth it? I am thinking St Lucia is going to be my favorite island, but I have read some negative things about St. Lucia. What was your take on it?

Chef Table... I have no idea (sorry). Chocolate Buffett - not sure on this either, but I did not see it. We were on the ship and eating by 12:30. Very easy process. St. Lucia looks beautiful. I wish I had toured the island. The port area is pretty but the shopping is not cheap. If I had it to do over, I would have done an excursion. My thoughts had been that we had full day tours before and after this and most things in St. Lucia took most of the day. I would add this next time though... I can sleep at home! Here are some pics...

If you are facing the bay the boat/board rentals are to your right and the gift shop and bar are likely to your left. Chairs are $5 to rent, Loungers are $7, entrance fee is $4 per person, taxi is $8 per person each way, drinks were $4-$7 depending on what you want, and we did not eat there. There was a security deposit on the chairs that you get back (I think it was $5 each). You won't need an umbrella as there is plenty of shade. We sat near the restrooms. :)

Thank you, Thank you!! So helpful!! :)

Hi K2,

Sounds like you had a great trip! We are heading out on the Victory in two weeks and are booked with Bolador. We just have a few questions. We were wondering if you were at the snorkeling sites before the crowds got there? Also, did you eat lunch on the boat or on the beach. Finally...did you have to swim from the boat to the beach or do they bring you in close enough to walk to the beach? Just wondering because we would like to take our towels and the non waterproof camera to the beach to lay in the sun and take some pictures. So glad to have someone sharing about Bolador. Sounds like they provide all the makings for a nice relaxing excursion and we can't wait to sail with them. Thanks for the details you've given so far - and we will be careful with the rum punch! :D

There were never crowds but their were a few other boats. It seemed to me that most operators kept a respectable distance from one another. We were served lunch on the boat and we did have to swim to get to the beach. If you would prefer to walk, just ask if he can get a bit closer. You will have a fantastic time!!! Yeah the rum punch :o :D;)

Hello, we are going on the Victory in June was wondering what is the MUST DO's to see and do for each island and also what must we do on the ship while on?

Bolador Tours is an absolute must... I would do this every time hands down. Thenford Grey is a great way to see the island and get a feel for St. Kitts. We really enjoyed him!

This is a port intensive cruise, we did not stay up late on the ship because our days were busy. The shows were good!

I have a few questions about the ship itself. If there's no fish and chip place on the ship then what is in the upstairs part above the the lido buffet towards the rear of the ship?

As for the casino, is there a video texas holdem table there like on other Carnival ships?

St. Lucia we stayed by the port.

If you do not have a tour booked, stay on board.

The shopping is overpriced and mediocre at best. We will tour this island next time.

Not sure if you mean never leave the ship

but if you dock on the attractive Point Seraphine side of the Castries inlet

Vigie-712.jpg

(as opposed to the grody cargo dock on the other side) ....

..I've always found Duty Free shopping in the Point Seraphine Cruise complex to be interesting, if not as cheap as Sint Maarten

(NOwhere is as cheap as Sint Maarten!)

My point being, it beats staying on board and never leaving the ship.

At least set foot on St.Lucia soil!

I might mention that not all St.Lucia island tours head down South to the Pitons, Drive Thru Volcano, etc.

I saw a lady holding a sign that proclaimed Short Tours.

I'm pretty sure this (half-day!) tour did the Northern flatter bit of the island, where the roads are far less twisty-turny,

and where there are nice houses out at Cap Estate, an area I knew well back in the 1980s

and will tour next time I stop thru St.Lucia.

Going down South can be a drag....not for everyone, especially those prone to motion-sickness!

OP glad u enjoyed ur cruise:), just paid ours off! It's our first time on this itinerary and there is so much to see and do, i'm afraid i'll overschedule activities.

1) We have Thenford booked for St. Kitts, how much time did you have at the beach? Other than the views, were there any other parts of the tour that stood out for you?

2) Any issue grabbing a taxi back to the ship from Magens Bay?

3) Cosol is another tour we booked. Again, wondering how much time you had @ the beach.

We're beachy types;). In addition to the Cosol & Thenford tours, have full day tour booked in Barbados with Sarah/Glory Tours that does the caves/gardens/glass bottom boat turtle swim and another comprehensive tour in St. Maarten thru Bernard. Was considering just doing the beach on our own @ St. Kitts ala St. Thomas, but you make the tour sound so great i'm second-guessing myself lol.

these are the same tours I am looking at for our Dec cruise. Hope to read your reviews after your cruise. Have fun!

thanks for the info
