Renting a car

Is Emerald Lake the most common drive? I tried renting from Green Jeep first (sold out) and they warned me that Avis prohibits their cars from driving on dirt roads and that cuts out many sites. Thoughts?

Emerald Lake is off the Klondike Highway which is all paved. No issue driving to this point.

Yes, but is it just that point that is an option (and whatever happens to be along the highway)? No Dyea or Chillkoot?

Avis, does not allow driving on the Dyea Road, it is 11 miles, and the trailhead of the Chilkoot Trail- if that is your reference.

Overall, hardly, your "many sites" reference. One way to Emerald Lake is 75 miles.
