Maui is no different than anyplace else. You can generalize about weather (it is wetter in the winter than in the summer,) but exceptions will always be the case.

 

Broadly speaking, winter is wetter than summer. Windward portions of the island are wetter than leeward. Seas are rougher in the winter than summer. Tradewinds generally blow from the east northeast. It can rain anytime, but in the summer showers are brief and (usually) a cooling respite.

 

An excellent site for real-time Mau weather is: http://www.wunderground.com/US/HI/Kahului.html It also has a history feature that allows you to look at the weather on a specific date in th past.
