Drive to Orlando from Port C for shopping - Too risky?

Hi,

 

I want to hit the outlet malls in Orlando but worried about missing the ship in Port Canaveral. We are renting a car.

 

Our Ship (NCL GEM) is in port from 12:00-10pm.

 

Has anyone done this? I'm worried about missing the ship!

Not risky at all - 45 - 60 minute drive, depending on where you are going in Orlando -

From the time you get your car, figure 45-55 minutes to Semoran Blvd (where the airport is) and then maybe another 15-20 minutes on side streets to FL Mall. Of course, traffic on Sande Lake Rd. is the big unknown. That may be more doable than the outlets.

We have family in the Cocoa area and vist alot... all of the shopping venues in Orlando are doable in that time frame
