I just realized!

I just finished watching QM2 pull out of NYC on Pied Piper's web cam. And it hit me! Exactly a year ago today, the Queen Mary 2 sailed into NY harbor for the first time. And I was there to see it. WOW!

I was there on April 25, 2004 too...arriving aboard QE2 from Southampton !!!

We departed Southampton 3 or 4 days after QM2 and ran into some very wild weather during our crossing, especially the first day out...

A very cold morning arrival in New York, icy winds as we sailed up the Hudson River.

There in New York harbor I stood on the chilly wind swept decks of the QM2, and I watched the QE2 pass us at the begining of HER journey across the North Atlantic. The next morning I looked out of my stateroom's window and there the QE2 was about a mile off our starboard side! What a glorious way to begin any day.
