Seating at the buffet on the Pearl

Can anybody please advise the set up regarding getting your food at the various buffets. Do you have to find a table first for the two of you and then go and queue up for the food. If that is the case how do you indicate to other diners that the table is already taken.? Or do you both queue up for the food and then go and find a table?

Just curious about all this as when we went to buffets in Las Vegas hotels, one of us had to sit at the table whilst the other one went for the food

We've only been in the buffet a couple of times on our cruises when it has been busy.

If you cannot find a seat, it is my understanding that at breakfast and lunch you can take your plate to La Cucina, or out to the pool deck where there are also tables.

If you wish to guarantee a table in the buffet area, then IMO you are best to find a table first and each one go up and get your food individually.

We normally get our table then go get food from the buffet. One will stay at the table and the other gets theirs.

We have also usually done it like that one stays in the table, that's easiest and most effective way.

Other way to reserve places while getting food is leaving a hat, jacket, hoodie etc for each place, usually we have taken glasses of water for each and taken eating utensils ready too. (Utensils are normally stored rolled in napkins in the middle of the tables in their holders.)
