Loterie, Orient, and Maho on our own

Arriving on Celebrity Summit Apr-29 and zip-line is not offered through the ship. Family of 3 and would like do Loterie Fly Zone, a few hours at Orient, and some planespotting at Maho. Should I rent a car or taxi ? Any recommendation which order I should do this ?

 

Ship is in port 8AM - 5 PM

 

I believe taxi is $40 from port to Loterie, $30 from Loterie to Orient, and $25 from Orient to Port - and this hasn't counted Maho yet.

 

Alternatively is rent a car, get to Loterie by 9 AM, lunch at Orient Beach until 2 PM, and get to Maho by 3 PM ?

Firstly most of the larger plane come in around 1.30 and I would at least allow 1 to 1.5 hours getting back to the port as the traffic is horrific. :)

We are planning on LEAVING Maho at 3 pm to get back to the ship on time for 5 pm departure.

 

Just and FYI, just because your ship is supposed to dock at 8 am, doesn't mean you'll be off and running at that time. Might by 30 minutes before they let you off, then again, maybe it's earlier, you never know. I would skip Orient (way crowded and overrated) and do the Zip lining and then head to Maho.

Thanks for the suggestion on getting to Maho by 1 PM. If we were to skip Orient then it almost sounds better that we taxi both ways to/from Loterie and go with the local bus to Maho - probably can even grab lunch on-board before heading out again

My Wife and I really want to do Loterie Farm too but we'll be in port on March 28th along with five other ships including Oasis (and we arrive in port last). We plan on taking a taxi up to Loterie but we're really worried with so many ships in port it will be too full to get on the ziplines. Should we call from the port before taxiing all the way up there or am I being a worry wort? Any advise/input would be greatly appreciated.

Loterie fly zone is more obstacle course than zip lines. Make sure you have the proper footwear.

Sounds like I only need transportation (a bunch of 1-way taxi) so a tour doesn't make sense. St. Maarten sounds easy to self-navigate.
