jstroose1 Posted March 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2012 We will be in port for 12 hours on June 10 - there are 4 of us and we would like a private guide. None of us has been to the area before. Can anyone recommend a really great private guide. I had contacted Sylvie Di Cristo but she is not available. We are thinking of Avignon, Les Baux, Aix-en-Provence. I have no idea of the distances or if that is possible in 6-8 hours. Any thoughts on itinerary? Any guide recommendations would be appreciated. Are they all about the same price. Any info would be appreciated.
hubofhockey Posted March 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2012 We used Provence Reservation last summer and had a great experience. Guide was Margeline. She picked us up at the dock in Marseille and went to Arles, Les Baux, and Pont du Gard. I highly recommend. We actually drove through Avignon and had a brief stop on the way back. As I recall, the cost for four would have been 420 euros. We are a family of four and added a couple from our roll call and it was 6 for 480 euros. Janice621 Posted March 19, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2012 In April 2009 we use Tania from Provence Tours. She picked us up at the port in Marseille and took us through Arles, Les Baux, Aix En Province. We had some extra time so she took us to the cathedral in Marseille and the seaport and then back to the ship. There were four of us in a comfortable van. She was very knowledgeable and would adapt the tour to your interest. I cannot remember how much we paid but it was a great day. Janice

We had actually booked with her. But the people at Provence Reservation provided a great tour .
LostFan#1 Posted March 20, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 20, 2012 We are using Provence Connection Tours in early May. I haven't seen any CC postings about this company, but they get good reviews on TripAdvisor. Communication with the company has been very good.
