One night post cruise Barcelona

We are staying one night post cruise in Barcelona with a 10:20 AM flight the next day. Plan on taking a city tour but was wondering if it is best to then get a hotel near the airport for easy travel the next morning.

How far is city to airport and how is traffic in morning, I assume we will need to be at airport between 7:30 and 8:00 AM
