hotel colon good family choice?

Recommended Posts

We're looking for a hotel 1 night pre cruise and 3 nights post. Three families, two with four children and one with two children. Children range in age from 8 to 16. Obviously we want someplace safe where we can be out walking at night and have easy access to either walking or via metro to the other areas of the city. Would Hotel Colon be a good choice for us? From looking at their website it appears you have an option of including the breakfast buffet. It didn't seem too expensive to get it. Is it a decent buffet? Thanks for the help!

We loved the Hotel Colon. We had a room facing the cathedral and just for the entertainment factor of "sitting" out on the balcony watching the world go by was well worth it. It will keep the kids amused.

We did not get the breakfast as it was very expensive and we were going to the market on Las Ramblas for breakfast anyway. There were a few places to sit out and have a nibble early in the morning not far from the hotel and the cathedral plaza.
