Roll away vs Pull out couch

I can only speak about Carnival regarding the pull out. My brother in law stayed in our cabin with us - so we had the two twins put together as a queen for husband and myself, two pull downs for our sons and he had the pull out. For him it was too short so not a great place to sleep and he convinced our oldest that sleeping in the bunk wasn't cool so he would trade him as a favor!!! My problem with the pull out was that, although they folded it up each morning, it was another piece of furniture in an already somewhat crowded room. If I had the option of the sleeper couch I'd get her to use that.

While I don't find an air mattress the most comfortable, it generally beats a fold-out or roll-a-way bed.

On a recent cruise I frequently walked by a larger stateroom that had an air mattress placed against the wall, thus freeing up floor space in a hurry. You could let the air out every day, but I certainly wouldn't.
