cruiser113 Posted March 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Have not sailed NCL in several years. Is the Express walk off still available on all ships? Traveling the EPIC. Thanks
che5904 Posted March 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Sorry I don't know what "express walk off is". They do have a program called Easy Walk Off that allows you to to carry your own bags and disembark when you wish to, once the ship is cleared for passengers to leave. cruiser113 Posted March 28, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Thank you , It is called express walk off on Princess. Easy walk off would be the program. You carry your own bags and are the first to get off the ship??
fergusonvt Posted March 28, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Yes I believe it is offered on all NCL ships. We were able to walk off both cruises as soon as customs is done clearing the non-US passengers. FYI, both times we were held up slightly because the a small number of non-US passengers did not go to their designated areas on time.
2Cruise4Ever Posted March 28, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Yep, still have it!
mikewrit Posted March 28, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2012 However, when we docked in Miami on the Star after Panama passage, at least a third of the passengers opted for easy walk off -- and it was not so easy. By the time we got in line it was already wrapped clear around the ship on the promenade deck.
mjkacmom Posted March 28, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Yes, and the last time we used it, it took us 3 hours to get off of the ship! We had to be somewhere at 11:30, but on our next cruise (again from NYC), we will sign up to be the last off of the ship!

Do you know more details about non-US passengers having to be somewhere at specific time while desembarkation? I've never heard about anything like that and have never gone off the ship any other way than just like everyone else by the normal procedures. Two out of three times I've been escorted by concierge and at least then I'd have heard if there would have been some specific procedure for us. To be honest, I'm quite confused by that statement because I'm normally very much aware of everything I need to know on my travels (I stay up nights on here and google before our trips :D) but I've never walked across anything like that. I've only heard of this for Canadian citizens. I believe it is because of shared information between the 2 countries. We were able to get in the custom line with the U.S. citizens as long as we met at a required time to have our custom form filled in correctly. The signs after disembarking were "U.S. and Canadian citizens", "non-U.S. citizens". I took that to me they didn't require going to a specified location prior to disembarking. sunshine nana Posted March 28, 2012 #11 Share Posted March 28, 2012 We have done this on every cruise. We were told by the concierge on the Gem out of Venice in 2010 that it was not allowed. We watched from our aft balcony as many did it, so we did also. Not sure why concierge told us that, but she was emphatic.
