Not long returned from a fjord cruise on MP.

Have to say on the whole we enjoyed the ship, the crew, the entertainment and the food.

Our only issue was with the excursions, we only booked 2 and had problems on both. We found the excursions director condescending and aloof and have taken one of our issues up with C&M in the UK. We will see if they are anymore user friendly.

We found the MP handled the seas quite well, even on a night when the sick bag fairy had been round. Mind you we were down in steerage ! (deck 4)

We booked up for a Baltic cruise while aboard as they were doing a great offer so we'll be back on MP again, alas the entertainers will be aboard the new ship.

We came back last week from a 6 night cruise on the Ocean Countess the 1st night was a welcome aboard meal / sleep over ...she was a bit noisy engine wise in the cabin but it's like being at home with a fan going all night didn't bother us ..i wanted to try the smaller older ship & we loved everything about her ,the style of the sun decks the crew were so friendly the show people were great & with being all british a comedian who was brill no swearing or dirty jokes i will be going with C& M again & hope that Discovery is as good & with being local a cheaper train ride :D

Our comedian didn't do dirty jokes or foul language either alas he didn't do funny jokes either and was so politically incorrect he was very close to insulting.

He should be pensioned off :(

I am going on a 2 nighter next weekend on the Marco Polo. Our tickets say we can't board until 2.30pm (according to cabin). In your experience, could you board the ship around midday which we usually can do on other ships?

Turn up whenever you like. We got there early for our cruise and were welcomed with no problem.

Say Hi to Andy for me...he may remember Martin & Su(the unmarried, married couple from the fjords cruise in August)

There were people still boarding the Ocean Countess in Hull last month on the 5 night cruise at 4pm , we were thinking that that was a bit late as you had to do the muster drill before sailing so that would have been a bit of a rush for them
