jansarts Posted April 3, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2012 We'll be on the Dream next week. DH has always worn a jacket to the steak house's on board, is a jacket still required , or can he just wear a shirt & tie? Trying to pack light!
EMc&DrS Posted April 3, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2012 I did not wear a jacket--just a dress shirt and tie (and I had brought a jacket for formal night). It was not a problem. Most men were not wearing a jacket the night we went.

DH has always worn a jacket to the steak house's on board, is a jacket still required , or can he just wear a shirt & tie? Trying to pack light! DH has never needed a jacket for the Dream steakhouse or any other steakhouse for that matter. Many men are just wearing a dress shirt and tie even for formal night and at least a collared shirt for the steakhouse. I'm not sure that they allow jeans in the steakhouse though. Trying to pack light! although some carnival pages still state jacket is required on elegant night (others state dress is elegant), it will be up to that rooms host. but more importantly, do YOU want your dh to wear a jacket? Sargent_Schultz Posted April 3, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2012 I have never worn a jacket or tie to the steakhouse. Always have worn jeans.
FlaGrl4Evr Posted April 3, 2012 #7 Share Posted April 3, 2012 My husband wore a long sleeved shirt, tie and dress pants. This was not on elegant night however. There were a few in polo shirts and Docker type pants and a few with jackets but the norm seemed to be somewhere in the middle-- dress shirt and tie. :):)
H82seaUgo Posted April 3, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 3, 2012 I have never worn a jacket or tie to the steakhouse. Always have worn jeans. jeans are now on the NO list for dress code elegant. and not even sure of the relevance on a jacket inquiry.

cambio Posted April 3, 2012 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2012 When we cruised the Magic out of Barcelona, I brought a couple of nice vests instead of packing a jacket. I still feel pretty dressy that way.

A Carnival executive joined us for supper that night in the steakhouse and neither he nor I wore jackets or ties. Neither would have gone with the jeans I wore that evening. There were no dress code issues.

About the jeans.. is that for the steakhouse or MDR too? ETA. Never mind. I desperately need new glasses and missed "elegant"

darth frosty Posted April 4, 2012 #17 Share Posted April 4, 2012 Yeah jeans are allowed NOOOO SHORTS!
bobsfamily Posted April 4, 2012 #18 Share Posted April 4, 2012 Nice jacket may not be required but I'm thinking I will take one for the Steakhouse. It's a shame some seem to feel the need to "push" the lame game and wear jeans to it. JMO, how hard is it slip on a pair of slacks?

zqvol Posted April 4, 2012 #22 Share Posted April 4, 2012 We'll be on the Dream next week. DH has always worn a jacket to the steak house's on board, is a jacket still required , or can he just wear a shirt & tie? Trying to pack light! You will get two answers. The Carnival answer and the CC answer. The CC answer is that he should, the Carnival answer is that it is not required ANY night in the steakhouse. Sargent_Schultz Posted April 4, 2012 #23 Share Posted April 4, 2012 Much like Carnival, you get multiple answers from CC. What the fashion police have to say and then what the majority (often silent) have to say.
