rental cars huahine/moorea

are there any automatic cars at the ferry? I have tried to reserve in advance--does this do any good. Only Avis seems to have a website though. What are your experiences with Europcar? thanks.

Not sure about the cars being located at the ferry dock, can't help you there. But, we did rent through Avis (automatic) on Moorea and it was a great experience. A great way to see the island. We rented through our hotel/Europcar in Bora Bora, one of the little "fun cars." It was a POS, broke down about a mile from the hotel. I'm not saying this is always the case with them, it was just a bad experience we had. :)

"Fun" car was 2 gears, forward and reverse.

Yep, we drove a regular car in Moorea. It was probably somewhere between an economy and mid-size rental car in the US. And the A/C was a godsend ;)
