luv2travel3 Posted April 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2012 We love hikes but are not water people. I get motion sickness. What would people recommend we do in St Lucia.
reedprincess Posted April 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2012 I would suggest you head over to Pigeon Island. It is a national park with historic ruins, 2 hikes(one more difficult than the other) with amazing views out to Martinique and Rodney Bay, 2 restaurants, a lovely small beach if you want to stick your feet in, a small museum with some history of the island - all in all it is a great day! It's about 30 minutes north from the port - about a $35US one way cab ride for up to 4 people, extra people will cost extra. Taxi's are readily available at the port to take you and also at PI for the return (or your driver will wait) There is a $5US entrance fee to the park. alternatively - if you wanted to splash out - take the helicopter tour of the island! It's 30 minutes for the whole island tour, starts right near the cruise port - great way to see the sights! St. Lucia Helicopters is the company - contact them directly for the best price. Otherwise - it is a mountainous island with small narrow twisty roads - not ideal for motion sickness. Most people seem to manage it with dramamine or gravol, etc. But - if your's is bad, then the roads and sea tours are probably not for you. Enjoy! gitti1963 Posted April 7, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2012 There is "ziplining" at Treetops Adventure or also North close to Rodney Bay but probably will take you 40 min drive w winding roads - if medicine helps and you are looking forward to spending some time in the Rain Forest : great way to be out there...just returned today from St lucia ziplining, sailing to Pitons, visiting Rodney Bay (go to Jambe de Bois f lunch) and renting a catamaran. Since we stayed close to the island going from beach to beach it was a very smooth ride. Webooked with the MOORINGS in Marigot Bay - ask for CAPTAIN SAM, he's awesome and will cater to your needs
