hannahsmomtoo Posted April 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2012 For those who have parasailed.. ( Bear with me if this is foolish.. ) I have seen people on the threads say that you take off from the boat and land on the boat... Now, I can SEE how you could take off from the boat... but how do you re-land on the boat? Seems to me you would just plop in the water? I am sure there are logistics that I am not grasping... The Carnival sponsored excursion says "bring your camera up" - not sure if I want to do that if I will take an accidental swim afterwards....
bigbigblake Posted April 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2012 You are on a winch attached to the ship. It doesn't slow down and let you fall, they actually winch you in back to the boat. Its great fun, but expensive for what it is. You wont swim, hitting the water would be very dangerous and very bad.
Razor_Poke Posted April 6, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2012 The boat maintains speed as you are reeled back in which keeps resistance against the chute.
Razor_Poke Posted April 6, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2012 If you ask, they can slow down enough to let you drift down to the water to get your feet and maybe your backside wet too:)
elcuchio24 Posted April 6, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 6, 2012 They just real you in:) It's alot of fun from the boat, way way better than from the beach. Most legit outfits run off a boat.

4tees Posted April 7, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 7, 2012 Did it for the first time when we cruised last year! Love it! Can't wait to do it again!
cruisinmimiof3 Posted April 7, 2012 #9 Share Posted April 7, 2012 I did this in Cozumel. It was a blast, and I took my camera with no issues at all. I have a strap on mine, tightened the strap and away we went. I did it double with me niece, she had a blast as did I.;) Just do it! Take the camera, its worth it! ondebyou Posted April 7, 2012 #10 Share Posted April 7, 2012 Did it for my first time when we visited Paradise beach on Cozumel.. I waited to do it there realizing how beautiful the water always is there and certainly wasn't disappointed, and i did have my camera up there with me. Amazing view. And as stated prviously, they did reel me right back onto the boat without getting me wet. Enjoy! :D
