Underwatr Posted April 20, 2012 #26 Share Posted April 20, 2012 Is logging off tricky? Something more than you would do to get off the internet at home?Onboard you're charged by the minute, and the clock doesn't stop when you turn off your computer, but only when you click a link that logs you out. One problem is remembering to log out; another is that sometimes your WiFi connection drops while you're logged in and the clock continues to run until you can reconnect and log out. pnhmrk Posted April 20, 2012 #27 Share Posted April 20, 2012 Is logging off tricky? No. If you do find that you have problems then ask them at the computer centre and they'll help :) Something more than you would do to get off the internet at home? Yes, but it is something that is simple to do but complicated to explain here. You are very unlikely to have problems but, if you are not sure once you've tried to log off, ask in the computer centre once you're onboard. You are very unlikely to have problems but, if you are not sure once you've tried to log off, ask in the computer centre once you're onboard. I occasionally found that the system would hang when I tried to log off. I asked the Computer Centre guy about this and he said that it was ok as long as you had clicked the right buttons - you didn't continue to be charged even though it hung. pnhmrk Posted April 20, 2012 #29 Share Posted April 20, 2012 I occasionally found that the system would hang when I tried to log off. That happens to me - I always thought that in was my machine that was faulty:rolleyes: (BTW where is Auchenshoogle?)
Jim Avery Posted April 20, 2012 #30 Share Posted April 20, 2012 When I first logged on in the Computer Center, I did not log off correctly. Ran up some 30 minutes of "use". The staff credited it back to me no problem and took me through the proper process. No further issues.
