Mathguy42 Posted April 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2012 Just a few questions before booking this. 1. Can anyone recommend shore excursions NOT organized by the ship for these ports: Villefranche, Livorno, Naples, Kotor, Dubrovnik? or point me to previous posts about these? 2. Is on board wine package cheaper on Med. cruises? I'm just asking because we had some really good Spanish. French and Italian wine in the Med last time that was cheaper than bottled water. 3. Is Euro the currency in the casino? 4. Overnight in Venice is "docked" but we still have to get a vapporreto to St Mark's, right? 5. Can you get your passport stamped in Vatican City and Montenegro? if so, where? How about other World Heritage stamps on this cruise? 6. Apartment rental recommendations for a post-cruise stay in Barcelona? thanks everyone Ed
Rare WNcruiser Posted May 2, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2012 Hi Ed, I will try and answer some of these for you. We did a 12 night Med on Brilliance 2 years ago. 1. The #1 private tour in the med is with Rome in limo (careful of imitations). 2. Never do the wine package, havent found any savings yet. 3. Casinos always have US $ as the main currency 4. Still researching that, but I believe YES. 5 and 6: Cant help you, sorry. We are booked on this sailing but wont be firmed up for a few months. I was on Equinox last year in it is definately one of my favorite ships, absolutely beautiful with a fantastic staff! Steve

Brick427 Posted January 24, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2013 Hey- We are booked on this cruise along with two other couples that are old friends. We are all from Metro Atlanta. Trying to evaluate shore tours ship vs locals. Is the beverage package a good deal ? What about trip insurance ? Booked through Costco Travel, they have been most helpful. Look forward to hearing from fellow passengers. Brick
