catmech007 Posted April 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Got off the conquest this morning, last week the chair hogs were out in force, every chair even in the shade was reserved every day. The entertainment has gone down hill, the food is still good but no more escargot and shrimp cocktails in the mdr. Just when I thought I had seen it all on friday afternoon about 5 pm there were two lines waiting to get back on the ship on the pier at cozumel I was on deck 3 overlooking the drunks boarding and all of the sudden a young girl threw a beer bottle off the pier into the water, there was an officer from the ship right there and saw it all, needless to say he escorted her up the gangway, don't know what happened after that, having said that i will say carnival has got the most rudest group of cruisers ever, these people have no respect for the other guests. Rare chasinraynbowz Posted April 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Really? Wow. Sorry to hear that. We were on RCCL last Oct and had a few rude cruisers too... lol. One got physical with my 70 year old mother who tried pushing her out of an elevator. It was amazing. We are going on the Conquest in December. Did you have any fun at all? spleenstomper Posted April 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2012 I was shocked on NCL pride of Hawaii when we saw people throwing trash in the water while waiting to board... Have them on video too. I'm glad you had fun. Obviously I am looking forward to our conquest cruise in 2 months!

So 1 young girl who threw a bottle in the water makes an entire cruiseline rude. Were the other 3000+ passengers rude as well ? Hopefully she finished the beer first ;)

jburk Posted April 16, 2012 #7 Share Posted April 16, 2012 My grandparents were on this same cruise. It was there first one. I told Granny to describe it in one word. Her response? Perfect. Her answer made me smile.

cruzinlisa Posted April 16, 2012 #10 Share Posted April 16, 2012 How was the ride? We go in three weeks. If you leave in three weeks you must be on the cruise right after mine. We leave two weeks from this morning! OP- sorry there were some unpleasant things but glad to hear you had a fantastic time. I am not a fan or escargot, so I am not too sad about that. We were one of the last people on the boat that day too, I was pretty shocked when I saw her throw the bottle. Most of the people left on the dock were totally wasted. We were late because our tour took too long. I didn't care for the boat myself either. The food and service in the MDR was very bad. The service was so bad and the waiters were very rude. We ended up taking off our tips for the MDR and gave them to our awesome cabin steward, Randall.
Gingee Posted April 16, 2012 #13 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Wow I hope it hasn't gone downhill. We were on this ship on our second cruise. I never did get the layout figured out. Oh well, try again.
dclark Posted April 16, 2012 #14 Share Posted April 16, 2012 In all fairness to the crew, if they get enough rude, nasty people, it is bound to rub off on them.

chill6x6 Posted April 16, 2012 #16 Share Posted April 16, 2012 having said that i will say carnival has got the most rudest group of cruisers ever, these people have no respect for the other guests. I actually thought the same thing about the Elation... I thought it was a "Mobile-thing" at the time. Maybe it IS an "Elation-thing." I will say this... Service was very good pretty much all the way around on the Elation during my cruise....main dining room servers and cabin stewards especially. That was my most recent CCL cruise...the shrimp cocktail was plentiful! We will see how the Conquests treats us.
sincity_blondie Posted April 16, 2012 #17 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Wow this concerns me considering im cruising on Conquest in 2 weeks. I guess there is always going to be rude and ignorant people. I try not to let idiots affect my good time! I have a fairly large group going for several BIG BDAYS, so we are definately looking to have a great time!:D
mpillen Posted April 16, 2012 #18 Share Posted April 16, 2012 I am curious. Was this your first Carnival cruise? It was my second. My first one was in the 90's sometime though. It was my moms 5th Carnival Cruise.
mpillen Posted April 16, 2012 #19 Share Posted April 16, 2012 There was a big mix of opinions. Some had a great dinning experience while others like my family and I had a terrible experience. Many of the passengers we spoke to that had inside cabins said they were either way too hot or way to cold and the thermostats didn't work. When maintenance was called they said it was within "their range" and there was nothing that could be done.
wbc12345 Posted April 17, 2012 #20 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Oh no! I hate to hear that. I leave in four weeks and I am so excited. This doesn't sound good though... :( Everyone going in the next couple of weeks make sure to do a review so I can know if this was a limited incidence! Hope y'all have better luck & more fun! lillian marie Posted April 17, 2012 #21 Share Posted April 17, 2012 I think personally people feel the right to be rude and act out with the me first attitude and that you'll find rude people about anywhere. A woman on an electric wheelchair scooter ran into my husband and blamed him for not walking fast enough to get out of her way on Princess. Rude people are everywhere. I guess we should have asked to be moved but when you on vacation you don't want to have to go complain and all that. You just want to relax and enjoy... mzloolue Posted April 17, 2012 #25 Share Posted April 17, 2012 There was a big mix of opinions. Some had a great dinning experience while others like my family and I had a terrible experience. Many of the passengers we spoke to that had inside cabins said they were either way too hot or way to cold and the thermostats didn't work. When maintenance was called they said it was within "their range" and there was nothing that could be done. The cabin we had on Conquest two weeks ago, 1017, was really hot. I called and asked if it could be fixed and got the card that said it was within range too. It just stayed hot. One night we had to put wet washcloths on our faces to sleep. If you are booked in 1017 take a fan! I thought the waiters were trying hard, but the dinner food was not good. Really. And things seemed disorganized. One night I ordered a flat iron steak medium and it came black and so hard that they knife would not cut it. The next night I ordered a filet medium and it was really bloody. The macaroni was gross. And my favorite, Bitter and Blanc was dried out and had no taste or chocolate. I don't know... I had also been excited to be a few steps from a "secret door". We were near a secret door on Triumph and really enjoyed going outside before retiring and watching the sun come up on the secret deck. I don't know if it is fleet wide, but the secret door seemed to be locked most of the time. It was locked in the evening and in the mornings anyway. At night all the open decks were unaccessable... One day the outside areas on deck three were closed and it was difficult to find a chair that did not have a towel or a book or a flipflop on it.
