UK Cruisers Princess Transfer Package Miami

Before our recent cruise I asked several questions regarding this transfer but didn't get clear answers. Thought others might want up- to- date information (April 2012)

 

- Coach transfer to Intercontinental Hotel approx 20 mins, no escort, quick hotel check in, helpful in lending stapler to attach cruise labels.

-19 minute walk (quote Princess lady) to 24hr Walmart turn left out of hotel. (shorter going, about 20 mins return carrying wine)

-Told to put bags outside room 8- 10 am, wool to be attached according to ship.Unsure whether bags were watched ! When we questioned security of bags were told that bags had NEVER gone astray and that what we read on Internet must've been another hotel, as the lady had worked there for ever ! (Sorry Shogun !!!!!)

-Needed to identify bags on forecourt between 10 and 11.30am where Princess ladies attached strips of 'toilet' paper.Told to be available in lobby from 12 noon for 12.30 departure.

-Approx 40 mins Hotel to Fort Lauderdale (aka Port Everglades)

-On return, 9am disembarkatio from ship for passengers using transfer. Coach left port at 10am, arrived Dolphin Mall approx 10.45. Had to be back at coach at 1.15pm for 1.30 departure .Fast food outlets etc at Mall .

-Arrived airport before 2pm. Had to wait on coach for luggage to be put on sidewalk.

-Quick check in (we were BA) Fast food and service restaurants before Immigration, fast food after Immigration.

No need to say sorry reason that bags are now checked before being loaded onto bus was due to the number going missing.

 

Lady should be a little old lady who used to be a school teacher, and yes she has been doing this for years ,

You're correct....she is a little old lady and she's been there since we've been doing Princess cruises......a good few years now.

Certainly didn't like being questioned about lost bags.....

Could well have been retired school teacher.....likes her own way and doesn't appreciate being interrogated !

(I say that as a school teacher, who still watches her own bags !!!!)

I remember her. Ive done this trip for times in the last 2 years and she was there each time.

The last few times we have been the only folks on the greyhound bus so he to be there just to meet us as such we have spent a fair bit of time chatting to her, she has not travelled very much, which I thought was odd,

Hi Shogun,

Suppose this is a way of boosting her pension and meeting people whom she can still tell what to do !!!!!

We can only travel in school holidays so there are usually quite a few on the coach, hence we don't get to chat very much !

She sounds like the same old lady we had in Fort Lauderdale (or maybe they are all old ladies)

 

We had to leave our bags inside our room and then identify them in a room off the hotel lobby area before they were taken to the ship. There were 2 Princess ships in port that day, so they had the cases on opposite sides of the room and you had to check yours were on the correct side. (Sheraton Ft.Lauderdale beach Hotel)

 

No wool involved!

 

The only confusion that arrived was when people hadn't put their luggage tags on like we were told to do, and then the porters hadn't known which ship they were headed for.
