Vienna question

We are taking the Tauck Blue Danube in July and on the Vienna stop must choose between the excursion to Schonbrunn Palace or the Imperial Apartments at the Hofburg. Since we would like to do both we are thinking of doing Schonbrunn which is the more distant and then trying the Hofburg on our own. Is this realistic in one day? We do have the morning of the following day also available.

Very doable if they get you back to the boat for lunch. We did Vienna on our own and in one day did Schonbrun, the cathedral, Spanish Riding Academy(rehearsal), the Belvedere and finally the ferris wheel. Unfortunately it was 95f and we were wiped at the end of the day. Fortunately we were able to rally for the gala evening which will blow you away:)

Thanks for the advice! I didn't realize the temperature could reach that high.

It can but it's not normal.

We leave for Europe in a few days and will be spending a week in Vienna for the 5 or 6th time. There is so much to see and do I would recommend the Royal Apartments you will be right in the center of the city from where you can spend the rest of the day and take in a museum, walking about and sitting at a cafe to feel the real Vienna. :)

We are also on the Taulk Blue Danube cruise but in Aug.

It looks like there is the a morning tour and then we will pick the Schonbrunn Palace option. What time do you finish with that? Also, do you know what time the boat leaves the next day, just wondering how much free time we have? Thanks
