Tampa Pre-Cruise Stay

We are booked to stay two days in Tampa prior to our cruise. We have planned to visit the Tampa Aquarium and Lowery Zoo. Does anyone have any suggestions on any other must see/do for Tampa?

 

We'll be staying at the Embassy Suites downtown. Any nearby restaurant suggestions would be helpful as well.

Busch Gardens isn't too far from the downtown area. Just head North on I-275.

A great pre-cruise dinner is The Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City. If you go, pay the extra cover charge for the flamenco dancing...it's worth it!

The Aquarium and Zoo are great especially if you have kids. Columbia Restaurant is amazing too--awesome salad!!! Busch Gardens is fun but if you only have 2 days, I would do the aquarium and Lowry Park Zoo instead.

If you are beach people go over to St Pete beaches. They are beautiful.

The Zoo and Aquarium are great but I would also suggest Busch Gardens as the previous poster did.

 

Ybor City can be fun as there are lots of bars, restaurants, and cigar bars. At night it's buzzing with nightlife.
