WOW...Casino Points!!!

We returned Sunday from a 7 day Conquest cruise. It was one of our best ever. My wife and I enjoy the casino and spend quite a bit of free time there. In fact, we had our "drinks on us" card in two days and really enjoyed that perk.

The last night of the cruise we were getting ready to head back to the stateroom about 8:30 and prepare for an early start when my wife noticed the lady sitting next to her at the penny slots. She nudged me and said "look at her point total". I had to do a double-take. Are you sitting down? 17,300 points. Yep...on a seven day cruise with 3 port days when the casino was closed most of the day.

We played quite a bit and racked up 7600 points combined! I guess it's possible she won quite a few jackpots and put it all back in, but really, over 17K points? Anyone out there seen a higher total?

How do the points work? I've usually put $20 into a slot machine and see what happens - high roller, I know. But I like the idea of a Drinks On Us Card and would be willing to hang out in the casino a bit more to get one. :)

She might have started on dollars and been reduced to pennies.

How do you get the "drinks on us" card?

Accumulate 1500 points. It isn't easy or cheap, usually.

We just got back from the a 4 day Ecstacy and the "drinks on Us" card was only 800 points -- Wife got it the second day, I got it the third -- and we only "spent" $20 each -- i believe you get 1 point for every $2 you bet.

We each had a hot slot -- they were almost like Bank machines :) She started earlier than i did -- she put in her $20 got a bonus game on her first spin and got 11,000 credits. a few spins later, another bonus game, and 18,000 credits she cashed out and spent that on other machines. Rinse and Repeat.

I did the same on an other machine --hit big bonuses on slots, and then spend it all on the tables -- go back to the slots win big and then spend it on other machines. paid off our S&S Card, upgraded to business class for the flight home, and still came home with about $600 between the two of us.

We are both kind of wondering if its a "suck them in" tactic but it didnt stop -- we just picked good machines ready to pay us out.

Once you hit 1500 points do you notify someone to get your "drinks on us" card? My DH hit 1500 on a 3 day inspiration cruise and we didn't get one. Is it on all ships and sailings?

When you hit 1500 points, take your sail and sign card to the casino host and s/he will verify your point total and then give you a card to show to the servers when ordering a drink. They usually attach it to your S&S using a little metal chain. You must be playing in the casino in order to receive the free drinks. You cannot order them from the bar.

For those who play in the casino:

Before your next cruise, call the Player's Club, give them you Carnival number, cruise booking number. They will check to determine if you qualify for anything.

We have received $25, photo coupon, fruit basket, wine, drink coupons, etc.

Worth a phone call. We also do this for Princess. Just received $75 each on our Panama Canal cruise.

On a 3-day cruise it's 800 points for a free drink card and 1000 points for money back ($10). When you get to the 800 points, just tell one of the host or go to the cage and let them know.

We just did a 3-day on the inspiration and on sunday (sea day) no slots were paying. The casino was empty. We were watching from the bar and people would play a little and walk away. Never saw a casino on a ship so dead.

Possibly that's the case, but I guess you could also get there playing the max bet consistently on a penny machine over and over for the majority of the day every day, too. We'll never know...

How/where do we find out how many points we need for each specific cruise?

I think you would have to hang out a lot longer to get that Drinks On Us Card and play a lot more .

Do your points roll-over like they do in a land based casino... do they remain until the next time you sail?[/quote

I called and was told after 2 years, you lose them.

I sent an email to the player club to see if we qualified for any perks. I gave them our past guest number, booking number, date and ship cruising on, plus my husband and my birthday. It took about 8 business days and I did get a reply we would be getting a standard bon voyage package and to check with the casino host to check on other perks. Hope this helps, good luck.

On my princess two week to Hawaii this gentleman had over 25,000 points. He put over 500 in a pker machine in twenty minutes. He didn't win anything.

Don't be fooled by penny slots. If you play max credits per line you can go through a couple dollars or more per spin. Usually to win the jackpot you have to play max credits.

They make it very easy to play your winnings back into the machine. LOL

I think you might have misunderstood. Your points toward getting the free drink card start from zero on each cruise. The Players Club people who give out the amenity gifts (casino cash, photo coupons, fruit basket) can see 2 years of your gambling history.

However, I was on 2 cruises last year that were essentially back to back but they were on 2 different ships, the Conquest the 1st week and the Triumph the 2nd week, and I was told I had to call the Players Club after I got off the Conquest to see if I qualified for amenity points for the Triumph cruise the next day.

The casino staff on the ship have almost nothing to do with the Players Club and while they can comp you things on the spur of the moment, they really don't have much to do with making sure that any amenities that the Players Club says you have coming actually get to you.
