Dover, etc.

We are going trans-Atlantic May 5th on Celebrity Constellation, stopping in Ponta Delgada, Azores, Lisbon, Portugal, LeHavre, France, Dover, England and finishing in Amsterdam, Holland. We go directly from the ship to the airport to fly home in Amsterdam.

 

Anyone have any recommendations for shore excursions in the ports EXCEPT Amsterdam? Good or Bad?

In Lisbon we took the ship's shuttle bus which took us downtown. While there we went on a wonderful walking tour with Inside Lisbon. http://www.insidelisbon.com/ We were entertained and educated and I highly recommend them!

 

We're in Dover, too, next week and most likely we will visit the castle. From everything I've read, it uses up pretty much an entire day sightseeing-wise.

Dover you can do the castle it will be an all day event or book a private guide to go out of the area

 

Le Havre depends on your interests...book a tour to the D-Day beaches or Honfleur / Giverny

 

e sure to check the ROLL CALL for your cruise your ship mates may have some tours they are willing to share

If Dover Castle http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/properties/dover-castle/ doesn't float your boat then Canterbury http://www.hillside.co.uk/tour/ is not far away.

I'd also suggest looking into going to Canterbury for the day. It's a nice destination to walk around as well as to see the historic Cathedral.
