operation brightstar?

During our cruise on the Paradise this past week, they announced "Operation brightstar" (I'm pretty sure that's what they said) in the deck 3 laundry one afternoon. My husband and I argued over what it meant. I thought it was a code for fire, he thought it was just some random training event for the staff. Does anyone know?

They announced that on our cruise last week on the Elation! Something about operation brightstar deck 2 aft emergency escape? We never heard anything else about it. So I guess it was alright!! I would like to know what that means also!!

From an old thread:

Operation brightstar - medical emergency

Bravo - man overboard

Code Alpha - fire

Sierra team - stretcher team

Delta - disaster, multiple casualties

(Thanks Cappachino)

It still could have been a drill. No indication is given in the announcement so the appropriate teams will respond as if it's a real emergency. Most are done on port days, but not always.
