angiegal Posted April 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2012 During our cruise on the Paradise this past week, they announced "Operation brightstar" (I'm pretty sure that's what they said) in the deck 3 laundry one afternoon. My husband and I argued over what it meant. I thought it was a code for fire, he thought it was just some random training event for the staff. Does anyone know? nolababe504 Posted April 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2012 They announced that on our cruise last week on the Elation! Something about operation brightstar deck 2 aft emergency escape? We never heard anything else about it. So I guess it was alright!! I would like to know what that means also!!
Sargent_Schultz Posted April 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2012 It's a medical emergency and they give the location so responders know where to go.
angiegal Posted April 27, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted April 27, 2012 Thanks Sgt. Even though I wasn't right, I was closer than DH, so I'll call it a win!
Miller_KC Posted April 27, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 27, 2012 From an old thread: Operation brightstar - medical emergency Bravo - man overboard Code Alpha - fire Sierra team - stretcher team Delta - disaster, multiple casualties (Thanks Cappachino) It still could have been a drill. No indication is given in the announcement so the appropriate teams will respond as if it's a real emergency. Most are done on port days, but not always.
