Ronne - Bornholm on Own?

Is it possible to tour Ronne - Bornholm independently without a shop excursion or private guide? Is it walkable or is there public transportation?

I have decided to rent a car (not too far from cruise ship location) because I want to go out and around on the island. However, I believe you can do a lot on your own in Ronne itself, There ARE buses. I think with a little googling you'll find the bus site, or you can go on Google Earth to get an idea of where there are and where they go. Hope that helps, at least a tiny bit! If not, maybe someone will chime in.
